Monika Sharma, founder of Moshvi Designs, grew up in Jodhpur, in a deeply traditional Marwadi family where stability was valued, and daughters were gently guided toward marriage more than ambition. Right after college, she wanted to work — not out of rebellion, just a natural desire to explore her own identity. But the timing, as often happens, belonged more to expectations than to dreams.
Marriage came early, followed by motherhood. Two sons, three years apart, filled her world with love, responsibility, and rhythm. Life was stable — her husband built a successful career in a multinational company, the family was secure, everything looked complete from the outside. Yet somewhere between school schedules and family milestones, a quiet thought kept returning: there must be something more I am meant to create.
Monika had always carried a natural flair for expression. She was a graceful dancer, enjoyed acting, and had an instinctive sense of fashion that made people notice without her trying. Style, for her, was never about trends — it was about personality. But like many women, her talents waited patiently while life unfolded around her.
Crossing 40 became less of a number and more of a moment of honesty. Not urgency, not restlessness — clarity. She wanted to contribute, not because she needed to financially, but because she wanted her children to see that purpose does not have an expiry date.
